Overview[]

Gain Red Eyes for 30 seconds, becoming more resistant to stagger, but also disabling Resurrection, and lowering Wolf's Burn Resistance and increased Burn build-up by 50%.

Can be used to land slow Combat Arts like the Ichimonji or the Mortal Draw, without the risk of getting interrupted.

To mitigate the damage taken while under its effect, it's best to use items that regenerate Vitality over time like Pellets, Rice, Fine Snow and Sweet Rice Balls, since the recovery continues even once the health bar is full, and Ungo's Sugar.

Up to three can be carried.

Can be sold for 50.

Notes[]

  • There are three unique Red Lumps received for finishing Doujun's quest, but it's impossible to obtain both Jinzaemon and Kotaro's Red Lump in the same playthrough:

Academic's Red Lump[]

A round, red lump, found inside the body of red-eyed Doujun.

Consume to gain red-eyes and reduce flinching from enemy attacks, but also prohibits the use of Resurrection. Dosaku and Doujun were the quintessential master and disciple. Often when pursuing the ideal self, one need only look within.

Jinzaemon's Red Lump[]

A round, red lump, found inside the body of red-eyed Jinzaemon.

Consume to gain red-eyes and reduce flinching from enemy attacks, but also prohibits the use of Resurrection. The red mass will not mold nor wither, and though it does no harm, it will likely remain in the stomach even after its potency has worn off.

Kotaro's Red Lump[]

A round, red lump, found inside the body of red-eyed Kotaro.

Consume to gain red-eyes and reduce flinching from enemy attacks, but also prohibits the use of Resurrection. The red mass will not mold nor wither, and though it does no harm, it will likely remain in the stomach even after its potency has worn off.
