Phantom Kunai (Upgrade Material)

In-Game Description

A kunai used by Lady Butterfly that can be used to upgrade the Loaded Shuriken. A ringing sound is heard when the kunai is thrown, and phantom butterflies appear in the kunai's trail. Since childhood, Lady Butterfly had accumulated much experience in Usui's forest, far from civilization along Tozan Trail. His forest is filled with mist and mystifications, making it ideal for training in illusion techniques.

Availability

• Sold by Anayama the Peddler in Ashina Outskirts for 3000 3000. Requires first to pay Anayama 10 10 for some information.

• Available for 4500 4500 in the Offering Box next to Hanbei after the final invasion of Ashina Castle and Outskirts by the Central Forces, if not purchased prior. It's not necessary to unlock the Kunai from Anayama to have it appear in the Offering Box.

Overview

Unlocks the Phantom Kunai Prosthetic Tool upgrade when given to the Sculptor at the Dilapidated Temple.

Despite its availability early on in the game, it isn't recommended to farm Sen to buy this item as the other materials to use this upgrade won't be found until later.

Notes

• Neither meeting nor killing Lady Butterfly is needed to unlock this item.
• Key item for the "Master of the Prosthetic" trophy.

Trivia

• As Owl's real name is revealed to be Usui Ukonzaemon in the Shura ending, it's implied that Usui's Forest belongs to his clan.
