Description[]

The Attendant of the Great Carp is the towering Palace Noble with the duty of feeding the Great Coloured Carp.

Entranced by the creature, his only reason of life is now to serve this master, much to the displeasure of his daughters.

He rewards anyone who's also willing to appease the fish.

Location[]

Progression[]

Fountainhead Palace (Feeding Grounds)[]

Upon first encountering him, the Attendant will tell Wolf to ring the bell to feed the Great Coloured Carp: after offering a Precious Bait twice, talk to him to first receive 1 and then 3.

Lastly, serve either the Truly Precious Bait of Pot Noble Harunaga or Pot Noble Koremori.

  • The chosen Noble will inherit the entire stock of the other, who'll disappear from the game for the rest of the playthrough.

Sunken Valley (Guardian Ape's Watering Hole)[]

Retrieve the Great White Whisker from the corpse of the fish.

Fountainhead Palace (Feeding Grounds)[]

Give the Great White Whisker to the Attendant to receive Divine Grass [x1].

Upon reloading the area, the Attendant will be found dead next to the bell, with his daughter by his side.

  • If not obtained prior, the 4 will be on his body.

Behaviour and Tactics[]

  • Perilous Grab: the Attendant reaches down quickly, attempting to grab Wolf.
  • Perilous Lunge: the Attendant lunges a short distance ahead, attempting to grab its target.
  • Drop Kick: delivers a drop kick forwards.
  • Elbow Slam: elbow drops against the ground.
  • Ground Pound: a quick slam on the ground in front of him with both fists.
  • Wild Kick: kicks up to three times.

Fights exactly like a Chained Ogre Mini-Boss, even sharing his fear of flames, despite the Attendant's lack of Red Eyes.

Ungo's Sugars helps to mitigate his high damage output.

All of his regular attacks can be avoided by simply running around him or dodging just as they're about to land. They can also be all deflected.

Both his Perilous Grab and Perilous Lunge can be avoided by jumping backward, dashing backward or running around the Attendant, but it's important to not get greedy and not land more than three swings after each of his attacks, to avoid not being able to dodge away in time.

The Loaded Umbrella can protect against any of his grab attacks and the Divine Abduction can turn him around as he's approaching Wolf.

After receiving numerous consecutive attacks, the Attendant will remain staggered for a short while.
