Ashina Castle

Ashina Castle is the main castle of the province of Ashina.

Wolf returns here after collecting the Mortal Blade from Senpou Temple, the Shelter Stone from Mibu Village, and the Lotus of the Palace from the Sunken Valley, only to find that the Castle has been invaded by the Central Forces and the Sculptor's Idols have disabled.

After defeating the Divine Dragon, Wolf once again finds the castle invaded and occupied by the Interior Ministry.

Castle Gate and Rooftops[]

A wide stairway leading up to the base of the Castle guarded by one of the famed Samurai Generals, and Nightjars perched atop the rooftops to stop intruders.

After the invasion, agents of the Interior Ministry patrol the castle gate, and Nightjar ninjas fight among the rooftops.

During the final invasion Ashina Soldiers are embattled by the Central Forces. Red-eyed Nightjar also patrol the rooftops, fighting their uncorrupted brethren.

Upper Tower[]

A series of rooms in the central tower, not limited to the Dojo where Isshin's pupils train, the living quarters of the Divine Heir, Kuro and the sick room of Isshin Ashina himself.

A hanging scroll in the Dojo tells of an old battle with ghosts that lurked the lands of Ashina and employed the lightning of the Fountainhead gods, hinting at later events.

After the first invasion, an ogre has been brought into the main hall, but is just one of many formidable foes Sekiro must face as he approaches the upper reaches of the castle.

During the final invasion, the young lord, Kuro has fled the castle, and Emma remains in his room with the recently deceased Isshin Ashina. She gives the Wolf a key to the secret passage in the Reservoir and tells him to meet Kuro there.

Ashina Reservoir and Secret Passage[]

The reservoir is the main water supply for the castle. Beneath the bridge, there is a secret passage leading outside the walls of Ashina Castle.

The reservoir appears to be the invaders' entry point; many wooden ladders were placed to allow entrance to the castle.

During the final invasion, Kuro once again awaits Wolf in the silvergrass field past the secret passage at the bottom of the Reservoir. This is also the site of the final confrontation with Genichiro Ashina.
