A Prosthetic Tool loaded with a large fan. Costs Spirit Emblems to use. Gathers and released a gust of wind, forcing enemies caught by the vortex to turn around.

It is a mild sort of being spirited away that can be returned from quite quickly. However, it's said that one can only return from being spirited away once, and if taken again, there is no coming back.

Divine Abduction

Overview[]

Unlocked by giving the Large Fan to the Sculptor. It is found by a Buddha statue after defeating Long-arm Centipede Giraffe.

Divine Abduction is an auxiliary Prosthetic Tool, but one that can easily turn the tide of difficult battles when used properly. The basic use of this Tool is done in two simple steps: Players must first gather a vortex of golden wind by pressing the Prosthetic button. This wind will linger sround Sekiro for a short time before it vanishes on its own. Taking hits from any source will also dispel the wind, cancelling the window to do the next step. When opportunity prompts and the wind still linger around Sekiro, players should press the Prosthetic button again to have Sekiro create a huge vortex that will make most but the strongest enemy within 360 degree of mid-range proximity to him turned on their back, making them vulnerable to backstab Deathblow and by extension, Ninjutsu techniques that otherwise can be achieved only through stealth or the Leap Over martial art. It is important to remember that the Spirit Emblem consumption for this Prosthetic Tool takes place during the vortex gathering, not the release, thus rapid trial and error is ill-advised.

The Living Force Martial Art allows players to imbue the wind's power to Kusabimaru after gathering the vortex, cancelling the vortex release in exchange for a swift blow with similar effect to one opponent. This alternative method of Divine Abduction is preferable when facing a single opponent or wanting to make a powerful puppet with the Puppeteer Ninjutsu to help in a huge confrontation.

It is useful to note that monks of Senpou Temple would "die" instantly if caught by the golden vortex release. This is possibly a nod towards legends of Tengu committing divine abduction towards temple monks who forsake their responsibilities.

Double Divine Abduction upgrade allows players cast two vortex release from one gathering for the same Spirit Emblem cost. The upgrade also allows player to cast one vortex release or do the Living Force attack should Sekiro got hit once during the gathering phase, given the attack is not powerful enough to knock Sekiro off his feet, which would dispel the vortex completely despite the upgrade's bonus.

Golden Vortex upgrade keeps the feature from previous upgrade while adding the effect of making enemy yield extra loot when caught by the vortex's effect. This extra loot effect only works once to any one enemy until they are respawned through resting. It is also important to note while it is the most complete version effects-wise, Golden Vortex cost 4 Spirit Emblems as opposed to other variant's 3 to use.
