Description[]
The Faithful One (信心深き者, deeply devoted person) is an old pious woman, praying for the Divine Child of Rejuvenation.
When first met on the bridge to Ashina Castle, she'll tell Wolf to climb Mt. Kongo through the Underground Waterway past the Abandoned Dungeon Entrance, if he desires to meet with a "certain sacred person" of Senpou Temple.
On Mount Kongo, she'll reveal the secret of the "fresh fruit" to Wolf, in exchange for some Rice of the Divine Child.
In the Sunken Valley, she'll reveal the secret of the "dried fruit" to Wolf, in exchange for some Rice of the Divine Child.
She appreciates when a devoted man joins her in prayer.
Location[]
- Ashina Castle: on the bridge just before the Sculptor's Idol.
- Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo: found just past the building with the first Infested Seeker (Parasite), praying on a cliff overlooking the Sunken Valley Cavern.
- Bodhisattva Valley: appears just behind the Sculptor's Idol, after Wolf has spoken with her in Senpou Temple.
- Main Hall: next to the door that leads to the Inner Sanctum, If the Divine Child of Rejuvenation has consumed both Serpent Persimmons.

Ashina Castle (Ashina Castle)[]
Talk to her to learn about a "special holy person" who lives in Senpou Temple.
Senpou Temple (Main Hall)[]
Before questioning Isshin about the Mortal Blade and its location, speak with the Main Hall Monk right past the Sculptor's Idol and "Ask of the special holy person" to receive Holy Chapter: Infested.
- If not obtained in time, it'll be found at the bottom of the pond with two Treasure Carps after the Temple Grounds, requiring the Mibu Breathing Technique from the Corrupted Monk to be reached.
Ashina Castle (Upper Tower - Ashina Dojo)[]
Grapple your way atop of Ashina Castle to face Genichiro for the second time.
Ashina Castle (Upper Tower - Kuro's Room)[]
Exhaust Kuro's dialogue, until he reveals Isshin's whereabouts. Traverse the rooftops following the trail of pink smoke signals to reach his room. Question him about the Mortal Blade and its location, then return to Kuro's room to retrieve the Gun Fort Shrine Key from the library where the Divine Heir is now found.
Senpou Temple (Main Hall)[]
The Illusive Hall Bell has now appeared in the Main Hall of Senpou Temple: ringing it will grant access to the Folding Screen Monkeys Bossfight.
Senpou Temple (Inner Sanctum)[]
Talk to the Divine Child of Rejuvenation to receive the Mortal Blade, then speak to her again to receive Rice: it's now possible to ask her for rice everytime Sekiro runs out of his only supply. Lastly, give her Holy Chapter: Infested.
Ashina Castle (Ashina Castle)[]
(Optional) Talking with the Faithful One again, she'll make mention of "two fruits" the Divine Child has to eat.
- She'll disappear from Ashina Castle for the rest of the playthrough either after Wolf talks to her in Senpou Temple or when the Shinobi Army of the Interior Ministry invades Ashina Castle.
Senpou Temple (Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo)[]
Give the Rice to the Faithful One and she'll inform Wolf of a "fresh fruit" found just past the cave in front of her, although to reach it it's necessary to "fly a kite".
Exit the building with the first Sculptor's Idol, take the right and drop down to a cliff with a Rat guarding a kite: equip the Puppeteer Ninjutsu awarded after defeating the Folding Screen Monkeys and perform a Backstab Deathblow on him, following it with another attack to take control of him. The Rat will now head for the machinery to fly the kite higher.
Head back to the Faithful One, grapple onto the branch to her left and then to the branch of the large tree on the right. Walk toward the kite and grapple onto it to land on a cliff. Now jump onto the other cliffs ahead by grappling onto the nearby branches to reach the Sunken Valley Cavern Sculptor's Idol.
Sunken Valley (Gun Fort)[]
Defeat Long-arm Centipede Giraffe and leave the shrine. Trigger the Great Serpent to ambush you either by attempting to traverse the bridge or by dropping down.
Sunken Valley (Bodhisattva Valley)[]
Give the rice to the Faithful One and she'll inform Wolf of a "dried fruit" found at the bottom of the valley, in the cave beyond the poison swamp.
Use the branches below her to safely land at the bottom of the area and traverse the mud to find the cave just past the Toxic Memorial Mob.
- Continue reading the questline progression to discover an alternative way to reach the Dried Serpent Viscera.
At the end of the cave, the Great Serpent will attack Sekiro if he tries to reach the shrine from the bridge, so take the left, drop down and climb the wall ahead to reach a cliff with a scared Monkey and five Spirit Emblems: equip the Puppeteer Ninjutsu awarded after defeating the Folding Screen Monkeys and perform a Backstab Deathblow on it, following it with another attack to take control of it. As it screams to bait the creature away from the bridge, prepare to grapple onto it after the Serpent is done attacking the beast. The Dried Serpent Viscera is found on the Buddha statue inside the shrine.
Senpou Temple (Sunken Valley Cavern)[]
Return to the Sunken Valley Cavern Sculptor's Idol, take the left, drop down and walk on the broken plank. It's now possible to land a Plunge Deathblow on the Great Serpent and kill it for its Fresh Serpent Viscera.
- Performing a Plunging Deathblow on the Great Serpent from here, but not taking the Finisher Deathblow to get shallowed alive by the beast will then bring Wolf to the entrance of the cave at the bottom of the Sunken Valley.
NOTE: be sure to complete her "Show Your Devotion" questline before giving the Fresh Serpent Viscera and Dried Serpent Viscera to the Divine Child or it'll become unavailable after reaching the Fountainhead Palace.
Senpou Temple (Main Hall)[]
(Optional) After completing having progressed through that of the Divine Child until she requests the two Serpent Viscerae to eat, once both are given to her, the Faithful One will move inside the Main Hall, next to the door to the Inner Sanctum, where she'll utter her last words before dying.

Once per playthrough, after having spoken to her, it's possible to receive a reward by using next to her for the first time one of the following items:
- Bell Demon
- Bundled Jizo Statue
- Dragon's Blood Droplet (not at the Sculptor's Idol)

She'll gift Wolf one of the following items in this order:

- While her "Rice and Fruits" questline can be completed at any point in the game, it won't be possible to unlock the Return ending by bringing Rice for Kuro to the Divine Heir, after the defeat of the Divine Dragon.

- After having given the Rice to the Faithful One on Mt. Kongo, if Blackhat Badger is at Senpou Temple, speaking with him will give the answer to her riddle.
