Decaying Inmates are a normal enemy in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. They are most commonly found in the Abandoned Dungeon.

Description[]

The Decaying Inmates are the test subjects of Doujun's inhuman experiments left to rot in the Abandoned Dungeon and the Bottomless Hole.

Behaviour and Tactics[]

  • Grab: If they get in range, they'll attempt to lunge at their target, dealing a lot of Vitality and Posture damage.

Continuously sidestepping while attacking is a guaranteed strategy to avoid getting grabbed.

Normally, after the first Deathblow, they'll remain on the ground for a while, before resurrecting: once a second Deathblow is performed they'll die definetely.

If Fire Damage is inflicted on them via any Prosthetic Tool like the Flame Vent or the Flaming Axe, only one Deathblow will be needed to finish them off.

Lock on can prove counterproductive, seen the numerous swarm of Crickets near these enemies.

Loot[]

+47 Skill Experience 0
Pacifying Agent
(Common)
Bite Down
(Uncommon)

Notes[]

  • Despite their only attack being a grab, no Perilous Kanji appears on screen.
  • Mashing buttons will allow Wolf to leave the grab animation sooner, decreasing the overall damage of the attack by a lot.
